From engineering to commercial leadership
Simon began his career in engineering and software roles within the UK Government, before moving into commercial technology and then into sales and business development. That technical grounding shapes how he works: he understands the capability behind a proposition, and how to present it so a buyer can assess its value.
Across a career of more than 25 years he has moved through software engineering, sales, business development and product strategy into senior commercial leadership in the government and national-security sector. At BAE Systems Detica he helped grow a sales team and the business around it, and at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence he led international business development, opening new markets and delivering consistent order growth.
At SecureCloud+ he shaped product strategy for secure cloud services, building pipeline and growing revenue. At QinetiQ's Naimuri he led data intelligence business development and grew the Homeland Security business. He now leads a government client group at Daintta.
Simon's expertise covers government and national-security business development, cybersecurity, data intelligence and AI, proposition and go-to-market development, partner ecosystems, opportunity shaping, bids and commercial leadership. He has built partnerships with organisations including Microsoft, Leonardo, AWS and Salesforce.
